Let The Soundcheck You Away Canvas Print

While setting up Wide Spread Panic, during the soundcheck mid afternoon we turned all the lights off in the Civic Center and beam of sunlight shined in like a spot light. My co-worker, friend, Phil went and sat in a chair and I snapped a photo. THis is my interpretation of that moment.

Hello I’m Stuart Engel. I have been painting and drawing all of my life. I am inspired by music, color, and the search to capture the movement and feeling of the moment. I mostly paint in oils but use other mediums when the mood strikes. I grew up in the DC area and moved to Boulder, CO in the late 70’s where I began my professional artist career. My last show in Boulder was at the Boulder Graduate School. My first daughter was born and I began a 25 year hiatus from my art career. Since then my wife Kim and I had two more daughters. Now that the girls are older and our lives are more stable I felt the time was right to bring my art out of hiding.
